As soon as the first snow falls, Verbier becomes a winter sports paradise. 'Les 4 Vallées’ (Four Valleys) is the name of the immense ski resort with a good 410 km of piste and more than 90 lifts and railways linking the stations of Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and La Tzoumaz. A cableway opens up the top of Mont Fort at a height of 3330 metres. From here there is a fantastic view to the Matterhorn, Grand Combin and Mont Blanc. The Esserts Fun Park has facilities for various trendy sports such as snowtubing, snowcross and snowcarting. You can also enjoy the winter landscape without skis along the snowshoe and winter hiking trails or on two 10-km- long toboggan pistes.
